Siphon

SUPPLIES

  • Siphon coffee maker
  • Coffee beans - Medium grind size between filter and espresso but closer to the filter size. (medium roast coffee is recommended)
  • Coffee grinder
  • Warm filtered water (siphon will brew faster when the water is warm)
  • Kitchen scale
  • Timer
  • Heat source (stove, butane burner, or electric heat source)

BREW

  1. Grind the coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency. You'll need about 10-12 grams of coffee per 150 ml of water.
  2. Fill the lower chamber of the siphon with warm water, up to the designated level. Place the upper chamber onto the lower chamber, making sure it is secure.
  3. Place the siphon onto the heat source and turn on the heat. Wait for the water in the lower chamber to boil.
  4. Once the water is boiling, add the ground coffee to the upper chamber.
  5. Using a spoon, gently stir the coffee grounds to ensure they are evenly saturated.
  6. Set a timer for 2-3 minutes and let the coffee brew.
  7. Once the brewing time is up, remove the siphon from the heat source and stir the coffee again.
  8. Wait for the coffee to cool down and settle for a few seconds, then use the vacuum action of the siphon to draw the brewed coffee back down into the lower chamber.
  9. Remove the upper chamber and pour the brewed coffee into your cup.
  10. Enjoy your delicious and smooth siphon coffee!

Note: You can adjust the brewing time and coffee-to-water ratio according to your taste preferences. Also, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific siphon coffee maker.
