About the farm:
The Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU) is a member-owned cooperative founded on June 1, 1999. It operates exclusively within the Oromia Regional State, which encompasses over 65% of Ethiopia's coffee growing land. OCFCU consists of small farmers who grow, process, and supply high-quality, organic Arabica coffee for direct export, following the principles of the International Cooperative Alliance and fair trade. OCFCU exports coffee that is traceable, fair trade, and certified organic, UTZ, and Rain Forest Alliance. The premiums earned through fair trade and support from roasters are invested in various social projects, including schools, health posts, clean water, bridges, and more.
