About the Farm:
Mario Roberto Sosa entered the world in 1927 and embarked on his professional journey at the tender age of 12. By the time he reached 20, he had acquired a truck and ventured into the realm of local transportation, ultimately establishing his own business. Shortly thereafter, he found love and companionship in the arms of Raquel Lopez, with whom he raised a remarkable brood of seven sons.
In 1966, Mario and Raquel decided to delve into the art of coffee cultivation, laying the groundwork for their future success. Their visionary efforts led to the establishment of Los Laureles II in 1972. Selecting traditional cultivars like Pache, Caturra, and Bourbon, they meticulously nurtured their farm. Over time, they introduced Maragogype and Gesha varieties, and more recently, they added Anacafe and Marsellesa to the mix. These diverse crops possess distinctive flavors and characteristics, piquing the interest of a wide range of discerning coffee buyers.
Even at the age of 95, Mario remains actively involved in the farm's operations. With his sons providing steadfast support, he diligently oversees the well-being of the trees and the harvest, ensuring the continued success of their thriving enterprise.
